The Science Group was formed in March 2019 and meets on the third Wednesday afternoon of each month except August. Usually there is an invited speaker or a member of the group may do a presentation. We have covered a wide range of topics including climate change, ageing and mobility, forensic science, an everyday application of relativity, greening the British power industry, nuclear fusion, the modern space race, nutrition for pigs and so much more!
In the first half 2026 we will learn about Sound, Sandpaper (more to it than you think), Design of the rails on railways (important for our safety), recent research into Prostate and Breast Cancer, and advancements in Forensic Science.
New members are most welcome. If you would like a list of our talks or want more information, please contact the Group Leader via our Groups Coordinator.
